Welcome to the Railway Pensions Commission's website where you can view the reports published by the Commission.  The Commission consisted of Jeanie Drake (Chair), Bryn Davies and Peter Thompson. 

The work of the Commission is now complete and various stakeholders are currently discussing the best way forward.

The Railways Pension Scheme is the UK rail industry's main pension arrangement covering:

• Over 91,000 contributing members;
• Over 140,000 members receiving benefits;
• Over 104,000 members will benefits still left to claim; and
• 224 rail industry employers.

In total the scheme's assets are currently worth around £18 billion.
